Tournament Rules

Next Sports Baseball follows NFHS (National Federation of High School Baseball Rules), except where otherwise specified for individual events or tournaments.
Our staff reserves the right to modify or clarify tournament rules when necessary to ensure fair play, player safety, and the best possible experience for all participants. Any updates or decisions will be made with careful consideration and communicated in the best interest of the athletes, coaches, and families involved.

At Next Sports Baseball, our tournaments are designed to provide every athlete with a competitive, organized, and enjoyable experience. All teams, coaches, players, and spectators are expected to follow tournament guidelines from check-in through the championship game.

Tournament schedules, game times, and field assignments are subject to change due to weather conditions, field availability, or unforeseen circumstances. Teams are responsible for arriving at least 30 minutes before their scheduled game time. Failure to report on time may result in a forfeit at the discretion of tournament officials.

All decisions made by tournament directors and umpires are considered final. By participating in a Next Sports Baseball event, all teams agree to respect tournament policies and support a positive environment for every participant.

Players must compete in the appropriate age division based on the tournament’s eligibility requirements. Teams may be required to provide proof of age, official rosters, or other documentation upon request before or during the event.

Only officially rostered players are permitted to participate in tournament games. Any attempt to use ineligible or unregistered players may result in immediate disqualification from the tournament.

Coaches are responsible for ensuring that all roster information is accurate and submitted before the registration deadline. Maintaining fair competition is one of our highest priorities.
Player safety is a top priority at Next Sports Baseball. All equipment used during tournament play must meet current NFHS standards or any additional tournament-specific requirements.

Batting helmets must be worn whenever required, and catchers must use approved protective equipment, including helmets, chest protectors, leg guards, and protective cups where applicable. Damaged or unsafe equipment may not be used during tournament play.

Tournament officials reserve the right to inspect equipment before or during games. Any equipment determined to be unsafe or non-compliant must be replaced before the player is allowed to continue participating.
Next Sports Baseball is committed to promoting respect, integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Players, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner at all times.

Unsportsmanlike behavior, abusive language, harassment of officials, fighting, or any actions that negatively impact the event may result in warnings, ejections, or removal from the tournament without refund.

Our goal is to create a positive environment where athletes can compete, learn, and grow. We encourage everyone involved to support fair play, respect officials’ decisions, and represent their teams with pride and professionalism.

Tournament games are played according to the official event schedule and follow the designated game format for each age division. Time limits, run rules, and tie-breaker procedures may vary depending on the tournament format and division.

Pool play and championship bracket games may follow different regulations to ensure fair competition and timely completion of the event. In the event of weather delays or scheduling conflicts, tournament officials may adjust game lengths or schedules as necessary.

Every effort will be made to provide all teams with the best possible playing experience while maintaining an efficient tournament schedule.
